Hey there!
My name is Collin Stephens. I am a writer, woodworker, photographer, and adventurer. In other words, someone who struggles to confine themselves to just one pursuit at a time.

The various sides of myself have been engaged in a long-term tussle over my focus and energy. This has been both blessing and curse. I’ve been inspired to grow in multiple fields and pick up a wide range of knowledge and skills, whose combination is unique to me. However, trying to organize my eggs in anywhere from 4-12 baskets at any time has been about as easy as herding cats. That’s where this website comes in.
Stephenswerks was created as an umbrella outlet for all of my various creative projects. Here you’ll find everything from the physical – kitchen cutlery & other woodworking projects – to the less tangible – writings, photography, documentaries, etc. The goal is that by unifying all of these stems to one stalk, they can each flourish on their own, while providing support for the whole output.

So, what does this mean for you, dear reader?
Well, that all depends on what interests you! Looking for a beautiful kitchen knife to add a little flair to your dinner party, or gift that special cook in your life? Check out the Woodwerks inventory, or shoot me an email to set up a custom order. Want to check out some of the adventures I’ve been on, or order a print for your own place? Give the Photowerks gallery a look. Interested in what I’m working on, and what’s coming down the pipe from the workshop? Head on over to the Journal, or subscribe to the mailing list.

Thank You
I can’t let you slip by without extending my gratitude for joining me on this journey, be it for the long haul, or just for the day. While everything here is currently being created on an extremely small scale, your interest and support helps me grow this space, and increase my ability to continue growing. And for that, I cannot thank you enough. All the best.

Great question! Originally, I was planning to spell ‘works’ the normal English way. However, I realized quickly that by simply changing the spelling to the German ‘werks’, I would be able to honor both my father’s family with ‘Stephens’, while honoring my mother’s family and their German heritage, in the same word.

Send me an email at collin@stephenswerks.com. Please include some details about your idea, be it certain types of woods or inlays, certain knife/blade types, theme ideas, etc., so that we can work together to build the custom-handled knife you are seeking.
