The Norwegian Pine
My maternal grandfather was a baker by trade, and the only one still cooking once I had begun knifemaking. Hailing from the tiny town Eibau in Eastern Saxony, Germany, I wanted to find a way to intertwine those roots into this knife. Though a paring knife was his favorite blade in the kitchen, this Norwegian Pinecone – a primary tree in the local forests of Eibau – needed a bigger handle to showcase it’s true nature, garnering an 8” chef’s knife, his second favorite to use.
